Hi, I'm Derek and I'm a hobbyist woodworker.
Let me explain why I have this website and am selling some of my work.
THIS IS A HOBBY
I mean that in the purest sense.
I'm not interested in pursuing this full-time (I like my day job) nor am I interested in hustling to make much money from this (my day job pays better).

I'm often asked if I can be commissioned to build something, or suggested to build a certain product because its a popular seller on etsy, etc. to which I respond that I'm not really interested:
Time is precious. I turn to woodworking as a creative outlet that is very different from my day job. My goal is not to push myself to earn money in the shop, but rather to enjoy my time there.
I'm already self-employed. I know what its like to run a business as my day-job. The idea of having additional deadlines, customer service, marketing etc. is not something I want to bring into what I call a 'hobby'.
I want to be creative. This is my creative outlet. I spend time in the shop to learn and challenge myself in the art of woodworking. Making the same thing over and over is not interesting to me.
SO WHY SELL STUFF?
Most of my creations are for personal use or gifts. For certain projects, I'll make a few extra pieces, or at times I make some things just for the sake of making it, but have no specific intention of keeping it.

My goal is to sell off some of these at a reasonable cost just to prevent my hobby from being a complete money pit (quality materials and machines/supplies are super expensive)
ABOUT THE WEBSITE
I needed a place to list all my currently for-sale items.
Since this is just a hobby, setting up a cheapo (free) Wix site was a good way to showcase my work/pricing.
